Trip to Indiana

Chris' Great Uncle George passed away this past week, so last Wednesday night we decided to drive up to Indiana for the Viewing on Friday night and the Funeral service on Saturday morning. While there, Kagan and Adaline got to meet some of Chris' family and see some snow.

On the way up, we meet Chris' parents, Mamaw and Papaw, in TN, and let Roo ride with them (chuckle chuckle). We turned Adaline's seat forward so I could move my seat back a little to make it more comfortable for my back (I'm old). And so we ventured on to Jeremy and Ghea's house.

Adaline amused herself without Roo there to amuse her :)

A frozen pond and snow

Roo is in that big buck (aka truck)

On the way to the Funeral. Chris' Aunt Darlene, Uncle Rick and cousin Wendy so graciously watched the kids at their house while the adults went to the funeral.

After the funeral, the church provided lunch for the family members so we picked the kids up so they could eat with us.

So proud of their ties :)

Car ride

Playing in the snow.....

Cappie even enjoyed the snow........ for some reason, I never thought about putting Adaline in the snow, I would have loved to see her reaction.

Roo and JD had a good time playing together

Always enjoy some good rest and relaxation

always enjoy some Mamaw time

I've always seen pictures or heard of the Amish horse and buggy but this is the first time I've seen it in person. (look past modern day technology to see the buggy and the horse's butt)

One of the many drives......... thank you Ashleigh for letting us use the DVD player, what a life saver

A little more rest...

"fixin" the wall

eating out of the dog bowl...... just a couple things we did in Indiana!

While we were there, we also spent some time with Chris' friends Joe and Jen Leasure. Sorry guys, I'm sure your house will never be the same!!! Thanks for letting us stay! And we also got to see my friends Carrie, Luke and Sydney (I worked with Carrie at Disney and she was my maid of honor). So good to catch up with friends, its as if we picked up where we left off. Those are the best kind of friends. Even though you may not talk all the time, you still know they are there for you when you need them!!
Despite the reason why we were there, we really had a wonderful time seeing family and friends. I had the honor of meeting Uncle George only a couple of times, for which I am grateful. He always had a smile on his face and an encouraging word. He was a Godly man and he will be missed!
We love you Uncle George, see ya in Heaven!!

Adaline - super cute playing with her baby in the carseat. As for eating out of the dog bowl, classy just classy.

Kagan - love the tie! He's adorable all dressed up and just as cute playing in the snow.

Amish Buggies - Aren't those signs SO crazy... and even crazier to actually see the buggy?!? When we were in Ohio a few weeks ago, I realized that I'd forgotten what it's like to see people in Amish dress in Wal-mart! :)
