Extra Digits?!

Some of you may or may not know that Garner was born with an extra digit on his left hand. It dangled from his pinky finger and actually had a small fingernail. Weird! The doctors and nurses say this is quite common, both fingers and toes. The pediatrician said it has nothing to do with abnormalities or syndromes, it's just something that happens. Sometimes they actually have bones in them and have to be removed by a orthopedic specialist, luckily Garner's didn't have bone. His was removed by Dr. Cleveland, one of the pediatrician's in Charlotte Pediatrics. Our pediatrician, Dr. Prosser, doesn't remove digits but Dr. Cleveland does. We could have gone to a plastic surgeon to make sure it was nice and neat with no bump but we didn't feel that was necessary. (no Ashleigh, we didn't get to keep the finger)

We went on Friday for his 5 day weight check and he weighed 9lbs 14oz, up from 9lbs 2oz when we left the hospital on Tuesday. Boy are we in for it! Actually, these pictures make him look bigger than what he really is.

Garner has been such a trooper and hasn't had any problems. We never had to give him Tylenol. We thank God that it was such a simple procedure and that nothing else was wrong with our little boy.
